Pimp C Book Cover Illustration

This was absolutely one of the most treasured projects I've had a chance to work on! I was hired by writer/editor Julia Beverly who, over a course of 3-4 years wrote an extensive autobiography on the late, great Chad "Pimp C" Butler from the popular rap southern group UGK (Underground Kings). Pimp C was revered by MANY in the Hip-Hop community, especially in the South. I had the task of producing an illustration that would capture the personality and energy of the original photo (which is what she wanted to use for the cover, but the original photo was lost). I got LOTS of accolades for this piece and had a lot of fun creating it.
